We’ve updated our menus and are serving some tasty new foods. We hope you’ll check out our new menus and let us know what you think!
Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
Menus July 1, 2014 with HHKFA (Healthy Hungry Kids Free Act) brought some additional changes to School Meals, lower sodium, whole wheat requirements and requiring ALL students take at least a 1/2 cup of fruits with their breakfast and a 1/2 cup fruit and/or vegetables at lunch. While Chico Unified has been operating under these guidelines far before they became regulation, it is nice to see these guidelines become state wide policy.
