Fund Raising Opportunities
| | Over and over again, community members have indicated a strong interest in working with CUSD. We invite and welcome that participation and will explore possibilities to partner with other agencies as well as fundraise to retain programs for our students. We are all very fortunate to live and work in a community that demonstrates such overwhelming passion and pride for our students and our future. Below are some ways in which community members can contribute. Thank you - | |
|
| | Adopt-A-School: A community partnership that links business and community organizations with schools to share expertise and resources in an effort to support our youth and schools.
Chico High School Foundation: The mission of the Chico High School Foundation is to enhance and enrich student learning opportunities by providing additional finanacial support for the academic and extracurricular programs at Chico High School. Chico High School Foundation is affiliated with the North Valley Community Foundation which provides 501(c)(3) tax status.
There are various ways in which community members, parents, alumni, and businesses can make a tax deductible gift to the CHS Foundation: Creating an Endowment Fund, Donating to the General fund, which allows the Board to direct funds to meet student needs, or adding to the Chico High Centennial Endowment Fund where interest monies (on an annual basis) will be utilized to fund mini-grant program enhancement projects proposed by CHS teachers. You can make donations on-line and see what has been accomplished over the previous years at: ChicoHighSchoolFoundation.org.
Computers for Classrooms, Inc. (CFC): A volunteer committee through the Chico Unified School District that refurbishes and upgrades surplus computers and supplies them to CUSD and other schools.
Computers for Families Program: Teachers may sponsor families that qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program to acquire a computer for $60.
Donations: Donations to the schools and the District are always welcome. Please click on the link for more information and wish lists.
North Valley Community Foundation: The North Valley Community Foundation has an individual account set up on behalf of the Chico Unified School District. Determination of the district-wide foundation funds will be made annually, in May, as part of the districts' budget decisions for the next school year. At this point the district-wide foundation fund is just getting started, but please keep it in mind as a way to make donations to the district or to individual schools.
Pleasant Valley High School Foundation: PVHS has been successful in the formation of the new Pleasant Valley High School Foundation. Former administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and alumni have joined together to make this happen. The goal is to provide sustainable, long-term financial support for academic, athletic and extracurricular enhancements for the students of PVHS. By supporting the PVHS Foundation with your donation, you are ensuring there will be support for some extras next year. You may also direct your donation to the department or program of your choice. For example, if you had a wonderful English or music teacher, you can designate your gift to go to that program. You can designate your gift to a sports program. Your generous donations will be put to work immediately!
The PVHS Foundation is a program of the North Valley Community Foundation which has non-profit 501(c)(3) status. Contributions are 100% deductible. For more information about the Foundation, your donation dollars at work, opportunities to donate, and teacher grants go to: pvhsfoundation.org.
