District Curriculum Council

MEMBERS    MEETING MINUTES   
The Chico Unified School District convened the inaugural meeting of the District Curriculum Council (DCC) on January 27, 2006, co-chaired by Kelly Staley, Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services, and Alan Stephenson, Director. The membership is representative of educators serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

It is the purpose of the District Curriculum Council to:
  • Elevate the level of discussion about curriculum, articulating a sequence of instruction, assessment and support for all students.
  • Review and recommend adoption of new textbooks on a seven-year cycle.
  • Review and recommend new course proposals in secondary schools.
  • Review and recommend intervention programs and alternative programs based on expectations for student success.
  • Review assessment data and recommend modifications as warranted.

One of the goals of the District Curriculum Council is to increase curriculum communication among educators.  Please feel free to contact any of the members with questions and issues dealing with curriculum.
