How To Register

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION    GRADES K-6    JUNIOR HIGH: GRADES 7-8 with OPTIONAL GRADE 6    OPTIONAL 6TH GRADE PROGRAM    HIGH SCHOOL: GRADES 9-12   

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATIONTop of Page

To enter school in the 2008-09 school year, a child must be five years old on or before December 2, 2008. Parents should register their children with the school serving their residence area. Proof of residence may be required. We have an online school locator program located under "Schools" on our main page. Parents can input their address and find out their resident school.

To register a child, proof of date of birth is required (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or other legal proof).  Parents must also present the child's written immunization record from a physician, nurse, or health department. Children must be immunized for rubella (German measles), measles, polio, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, mumps, Hepatitis B and chicken pox prior to school entry. A waiver of the immunization requirement may be obtained for religious or health reasons.

For information regarding placement in the Academics Plus program, contact Sierra View School, 891-3117.
For information regarding the Two-Way Immersion Program, contact Parkview Elementary, 891-3114 or Rosedale Elementary, 891-3104.

When elementary school offices are closed for the summer, students who are new to the area may be registered at the District Office, 1163 E. 7th Street, Room 4.   For further information, call the District Office at 891-3000, ext. 137.

Registration dates and times vary. Contact your resident school for details. When elementary school sites are closed, students new to the area may register at the Chico Unified School District office at 1163 East 7th Street, Chico, CA 95928, (530) 891-3000, ext. 137.

JUNIOR HIGH: GRADES 7-8 with OPTIONAL GRADE 6Top of Page

Registration dates and times vary. Contact your resident school for details. Transfer students outside the school district or students with questions about their schedule should contact the school office BEFORE the first day of school.


OPTIONAL 6TH GRADE PROGRAMTop of Page

A limited number of sixth grade students will have the option of attending sixth grade classes at Bidwell Junior High, Chico Junior High and Marsh Junior High.  For more information, please call 891-3000 ext. 133 or 137.  

HIGH SCHOOL: GRADES 9-12Top of Page

Registration dates and times vary. Contact your resident school for details. Students who registered previously should receive information in the mail. Students new to the school district should make an appointment with a counselor by calling the school for which they are zoned BEFORE the first day of school. High school students younger than 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to register.
