There should be no failing grades at
the quarters or semesters if students
follow my policy below. Any
student earning an "F" at the quarter
or semester is making a choice to
fail.
Any student that:
(1) works to the best of their
ability level
(2) completes every homework assignment
to the best of their ability
(3) comes in for tutoring help
every time they need it
(4) earns a combined test score of 65% (two of the three 50 point unit {chapter}
test scores) added together
(5) re-takes the first chapter test of each chapter when they have a score less than 35/50
is guaranteed to pass at the quarter grading period with a grade of at least "D-", even if their class percentage is below 60%. A grade of "F" on the progress report –midway through the quarter- does not necessarily mean the student will fail at the quarter.
The only students that fail my class are those that choose to fail.
