Math
| | The Chico Junior High Math Department has an emphasis on problem solving which will benefit students throughout their lives.
Classes include the basics of Sixth and Seventh Grade math, followed by Math 8 /Algebra A, which presents the first half of a two-year algebra program. Students will complete the second half as high school freshmen.
Accelerated students who pass a math placement test before seventh grade may take Algebra 1 in Grade Seven, which covers the two-year program in one year. They then take Geometry in Grade Eight.
All classes meet the California Mathematics Content Standards for California Public Schools for Grades 6-8.
