| | - Label Everything: Backpacks, clothing, and lunches all need to have first initials and last names on them. Please try to avoid the many jackets which clog up the hallways by reminding your child to take things home each day.
- Tardies/Absences: Late students need to get a “late slip” from the office before coming to class. Absent students need either a call to the office or provide a note explaining the reason for the absence. I really encourage family vacations during holidays and summer, BUT if a long, hopefully educational trip is planned, we can possibly apply for "independent study," enabling the school to still receive the daily money. Please let me know weeks ahead and I can help.
- Birthdays: To prevent hurt feelings, birthday invitations may not be distributed at school. If needed, use the class address list that will be sent home early in the year. If you want, your child may celebrate his/her birthday at school by bringing a treat for all. Check with the teacher for appropriate times. Please just let me know your preferences and I will be happy to help your child celebrate the big day!
- Parent Volunteers: For safety reasons, parent volunteers sign in at the office and wear a nametag while on campus during school hours. Any parent wishing to drive on field trips must have an insurance form on file.
- Conferences/Progress Reports: Conferences are held in the Fall. Additional conferences can be made by special arrangement with the teachers. Narrative evaluations/report cards are given two times per year. Each week in the log, look for your child's progress via log notes and teacher comments. PLEASE SIGN THE LOG EACH WEEK ON MONDAY NIGHTS, TO THEN RETURN IT ON TUESDAY MORNINGS. This is so important! Kids need the logs at school to writ in them daily. Beth notes should also be responded to ASAP, via email and/or returning the signed note.
- Past Due = Two commitments due each day. Getting behind is not fun! I offer a Thursday homework club at lunch to stay current on commitments, as well as the opportunity to stay after school to work with parents and the teachers to get organized and stay organized.
- Teacher Schedule: I will be teaching full time now so I will be here M-F 8am- when ever I leave! (Usually 3pm or later.)
