| | Therefore, the staff and parents will motivate students to learn by: - making classroom instruction the highest priority;
- providing all students with equal access to the core curriculum;
- creating a stimulating and challenging curriculum and classroom environment;
- creating a positive and well balanced social climate that fosters high self-esteem;
- setting high goals and communicating clear expectations in all classes and at home;
- demonstrating their commitment to the work ethic and encouraging students to perform at their best;
- allowing students to exercise their individual thinking styles in a non-judgmental environment;
- providing specific health education instruction and modeling a healthy life-style;
- serving as role models through their personal conduct and showing respect for both students and adults, their property and the environment, and be willing participants in student decision-making regarding moral issues or uncertainties;
- providing a stimulating learning environment within a safe and supportive structure that encourages positive social development and intellectual growth;
- treating all individuals with respect, accepting cultural, racial, and religious differences and providing opportunities for the school community to share an appreciation of our many cultural heritages.
Therefore, students will contribute to their own education by: - coming to school prepared and willing to work, and getting to class on time with homework completed;
- accepting academic challenges, striving for accuracy, working to capacity and setting goals for further advancement;
- being self-motivated to look at problems from different angles;
- staying alcohol and drug free, getting proper exercise, rest and nourishment, and respecting each other's bodies;
- showing a willingness to help other students make morally correct decisions;
- respecting the rights and property of others, being willing to seek help, avoiding negative peer pressure, and participating in all school activities;
- honoring everyone's beliefs, treating each person as an individual, avoiding words that label and stereotype, and seeing everyone as we see ourselves.
