Beginning ArtTop of Page

Want to learn how to design a T-shirt, draw a tiger, paint like George O'Keefe or do cartoons? This introductory course is filled with projects for the beginning art student. Areas covered include graphic design, drawing, portraits, styles of famous artists, cartooning, nature drawings, and the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Various media such as pastels, watercolor, pencil and felt pen are yours to explore.

Prerequisite: Art I and teacher recommendation (see Mrs. Moretti in Room #D-21)

This class was created for the student who shows exceptional ability, interest and enjoyment of art. Watercolors are emphasized. Learn the techniques for creating works of art. Students will also learn to mat their own artwork.

CeramicsTop of Page

This course is designed to introduce students to the world of clay. Students will be working with various ceramic techniques, including greenware and bisque, glazing, and firing of clay products. This class will include the making and firing of pinch or thumb pots, tiles, slab containers, and coil pots, along with individual exploration.
