The health curriculum also includes a program called All Stars. This two week program includes activities that promote character development by helping students identify positive ideals, establish conventional norms, build personal commitments, and strengthen bonds between students, the school, and parents. The ultimate goal of the program is to reduce substance abuse, violence, and other risky behaviors. Fran Anderson, a credentialed teacher, has been hired by the Butte County Office of Education to teach All Stars.
The MJHS health curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the California State Health Framework and the Standards and Benchmarks recommended by the CUSD Health Task Force.
