The building department (County or City) initiates Butte County Schools Impact Fee Certification Forms.  Once you receive the form with the top half filled out and signed by the building department, bring it to our office at 1163 East Seventh Street.
 
  • School Impact Fees will be collected between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
    • Please note: the Fiscal Services office will be closed on the following dates:
      • Friday, March 22, 2024
      • Friday, March 29, 2024
      • Monday, April 1, 2024

2022 School Fee Justification Study

Chico Unified School District held a public hearing to receive comments at a regular Board meeting on April 20, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. for consideration of an adjustment in the statutory school fees (“Level I School Fees”) that may be imposed on new residential and commercial/industrial construction located within the boundaries of the School District pursuant to Government Code Section 65995 and Education Code Section 17620.  On May 4, 2022, Resolution 1577-22 was approved for a partial increase at the Special Board meeting.  An additional increase (Resolution 1607-23) was approved on June 21, 2023.
