QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL COACHING POSITIONS
 

1) Demonstrated satisfactory coaching experience at the appropriate team level preferred and/or prior team participation considered; 2) Works effectively with others; 3) Communicates effectively; 4) Know­ledge of coaching theory and techniques; 5) Knowledge of adolescent psychology as it relates to sport participation; 6) Knowledge of first aid, emergency procedures, and care and pre­vention of injuries. In addition, persons providing aquatic instruction, including, but not limited to, swimming instruction, water safety instruction, water contact activities, and competitive aquatic sports, at a public swimming pool shall possess an American Red Cross Emergency Water Safety Course certificate, or have equivalent qualifications; 7) Personal qualities including, but not limited to, positive appearance, adequate physical stamina, pleasing per­sonality;  8) Time availability suitable for practice sessions, games, fund-raising, etc.; 9) Knowledge of the sport's rules and regulations, league rules and C.I.F. regulations).

**Effective July 1, 2010, all non-credentialed coaches are required to hold an Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing or have a fingerprint clearance on file from the California Department of Justice and the FBI.   Please contact Human Resources for more information.
