Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners.


To provide industry-linked programs and services that enable all individuals to reach their career goals in order to achieve economic self-sufficiency, compete in the global marketplace and contribute to California's and Chico's economic prosperity.

Both Chico High and Pleasant Valley  High Schools continue to add college and career pathways such as:

Many CTE courses are University of California, A-G approved and some courses articulate with the local community colleges and offer students the opportunity to earn post-secondary credit while attending high school.
