Smarter Balanced State Testing System is part of the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System.  The CAASPP System replaced the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) system in 2014. Test results help identify gaps in knowledge so students can receive the support they need to succeed.
