Because pay schedules can vary by position and start date, we encourage all new employees to connect directly with the Payroll team to confirm when they will receive their first paycheck.

California State Teachers' Retirement System (CALSTRS)
The California State Teachers’ Retirement System was established by law in 1913 to provide retirement benefits to California’s public school educators from pre-kindergarten through community college.
Classified & Non-Teaching Staff
California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS)
CalPERS is the nation's largest public pension fund and serves nearly 2 million retirees.
Unsafe Condition
Please use the form Notification of Unsafe Condition or Hazard found in the Staffroom (Forms/Procedures --> Human Resources) to report any unsafe condition.
Please make sure to report the unsafe condition or hazard to the site prior to filling out the notification form.
Work Calendars
Chico Unified offers both 12-month positions (work all year) and positions that align with the school schedule (such as having spring and summer breaks).
