The Board Welcomes Your Comments

Board meetings are comprised of legislative, judicial and executive actions. The overriding purpose of board meetings, is to conduct the business of the school district while allowing the public to observe the process and deliberations, comment briefly thereon, and understand the reasons underlying Board decisions.

Written Comments

Written Comments

The public is encouraged to submit written comments to the Board Members in advance for their prior consideration. In order to help ensure Board Members have sufficient time to review all comments, please submit comments by noon, on Monday (two days prior to Wednesday's meeting).

Comments should be submitted to the CUSD mailbox at:PublicComment@chicousd.org.

All public comments received by the deadline will be available from the Chico Unified School District Office. The following information should be included in the body of the email:
  • Agenda Item Number or
  • General Public Comment for Items From the Floor (“Items from the Floor” is an agenda item on the Regular Board of Education Meetings – not Special Board Meetings or Workshops)

Public Participation Details - Speaker Card

Priority will be given to speakers who submit a speaker card by 12 p.m. on the day of the Board Meeting. If time remains after hearing from those who have submitted a speaker card, the Board may hear from individuals in attendance that did not submit a speaker card (please read the full agenda for details regarding participation information).  

Please note:
  • Public comments may be provided via email or speaker card as specified on the agenda.
  • Form must be submitted no later than noon on day of Board Meeting.
  • The only information you are required to supply is the agenda item you wish to address.
  • Please submit your Speaker Card request before 12 p.m. on the day of the Board Meeting.
