Superintendent Search
The Chico Unified Board of Education is in the process of conducting a search for the District’s next Superintendent.
Butte County Office of Education, was selected to advise the Board in this important process.
Dear Chico Unified Staff and Community,
We would like to inform you that Chico Unified School District Superintendent Kelly Staley has announced her retirement, effective June 30, 2025, marking the end of this school year. To ensure a smooth transition and find the best candidate for the role, the Board of Education has engaged the Butte County Office of Education to assist in the search for our next Superintendent.
Your input is invaluable to us during this important process. We invite all members of the Chico community to participate in providing feedback and insights into the selection of our next Superintendent. To facilitate this, we have scheduled several opportunities for both community and staff members to share their perspectives.
Chico Community Input Meetings:
- September 23 at 6:00 p.m. – Multipurpose Room, Marigold Elementary School, located at 2446 Marigold Avenue, Chico, CA 95926
- September 25 at 6:00 p.m. – Multipurpose Room, Marsh Junior High School, located at 2253 Humboldt Road, Chico, CA 95928
Chico Unified School District Staff Meetings (open to all CUTA, CSEA and CUMA staff):
- September 30 at 3:15 p.m. – Input Meeting for Elementary and other district staff, Multipurpose Room, Marigold Elementary School, located at 2446 Marigold Avenue, Chico, CA 95926
- October 2 at 4:00 p.m. – Input Meeting for Secondary and other district staff, Multipurpose Room, Marsh Junior High School, located at 2253 Humboldt Road, Chico, CA 95928
For those who are unable to attend the in-person meetings, an online survey is available to gather your input.
