The Title I program is a federally funded program authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The State Educational Agency (SEA) shall award grants to geographically diverse local educational agencies (LEAs). Grants are provided for schools to provide comprehensive support and improvement or implementing targeted support and improvement plans. The purpose is to ensure all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education.
