Whether you're planning your next steps after graduation, applying to college, or exploring career opportunities, accessing your academic records is a key part of the journey.

This page is designed to guide Chico Unified students and alumni through requesting official transcripts and obtaining diploma information.

If your original diploma has been misplaced or lost, don't worry! While Chico Unified does not issue duplicate diplomas, your official high school transcript serves as the legal proof of your graduation. Colleges and employers treat your transcript as the primary verification document because it includes all of your official academic details.

It's super simple now! Chico Unified is making the process easier than ever.

Applying to a UC, CSU, or California Community College? Current students applying to UC, CSU, or CCC schools should request their transcripts directly via CCGI. If you need help getting started or have questions, please contact your school counselor.
All Other Transcript Requests: We’re excited to partner with Parchment for all other transcript needs! Our online request form makes ordering transcripts smoother for you, more efficient for your school, and ensures your official records arrive at your chosen institutions in the format they prefer.

Who Can Request Records?

Once a student turns 18 years old, they are legally considered an adult and must request their own records. Family members, spouses, or parents cannot request transcripts or academic records on behalf of an adult student.

Official vs. Unofficial Transcripts

Need a transcript? It helps to know the difference between official and unofficial copies:

Official Transcripts: Required by colleges, universities, and employers for admissions and formal applications. Official transcripts are verified with an official seal and signature and are transmitted directly to the receiving institution.
Unofficial Transcripts: Best for personal reference or informal review. You can request an unofficial transcript by calling the Chico Unified School District office directly at (530) 891-3000, ext. 20813.

If you're a current Chico Unified student, just reach out to your school's counseling office. If you're a minor (under the age of 18), your parent/guardian can also make this request for you at your current school.
