Welcome to Chico Unified, where we believe that every member of our team plays a vital role in serving every student every day. We are looking for individuals to join our educational community as substitute staff, offering unique "perks" such as multiple positions that align with the school schedule. Whether you are a retired professional, a parent/guardian looking to get involved, or an aspiring educator, being a substitute allows you to explore diverse roles across Chico Unified. 

Substitute positions are available to all applicants. 

 

To apply for substitute positions, you may access the substitute application online. You may also visit the Classified Human Resources department at the District Office to complete a paper application.  Once completed, please return your application to AHoff@chicousd.org or drop it off at the District Office (1163 E. 7th Street, Chico, CA) in Room 3.  

There are substitute applications for individuals who currently have a teacher credential, and for individuals who do not yet have an active teaching credential. Please visit the Certification Human Resources Department webpage to learn more.
