The CUSD Nutrition Services Department is committed to serving students attractive and healthy meals that contribute to their nutritional and educational needs by giving them the keys for lifelong healthy eating habits. We are continuously looking for ways to effectively address food insecurity in our community by ensuring every child has access to nutritious meals throughout the school year and beyond. We strive to use as many local vendors as possible for our fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins, milk and dairy. We have our own bakery with three professional bakers that produce many of our breakfast items such as muffins, cinnamon rolls and muffin tops! During the school year, we serve over 11,000 meals per day at 30 schools across Chico.

Chico Unified School District is excited to announce the California Universal Meal program for the 2023-24 school year, making it possible to continue to offer FREE MEALS TO ALL STUDENTS.
