Chico Unified School District awards the State Seal of Biliteracy in accordance with criteria developed by the California Department of Education. The program recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing one or more languages in addition to English. Qualified students receive a certificate and medallion to wear during their commencement ceremonies.
